Troy safety Brynden Trawick is still looking for his first interception in a Trojans uniform but he is more anxious to prove the defense as a whole has improved from last season.

"It's exciting to start a new chapter of Troy football, Trawick said. "We've got a lot to build off of. Attacking the ball and everyone running to the ball will be key."

Trawick (Marietta, Ga.) origanlly signed with Michigan State out of high school. While with the Spartans he was moved to linebacker then back to safety.

At 6-2, 221, Trawick transferred to Northeast Mississippi Community College where he returned his only interception 67 yards for a score. The senior said he is ready to get his first pick at the Division I level.

"I looking for it no doubt," said Trawick, who led the Trojans in tackles last season with 123. "I just missed out on my opportunities last year."

Trawick said the transition to linebacker while at Michigan State didn't bother him but he's happy at safety.

"I'll play wherever the coaches want me to play," he said. "They want me at safety and I'm going to do my best there."
